The Center for International Health, Education and Biosecurity (Ciheb-Kenya) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Compliance Manager to strengthen organizational compliance, internal controls, and donor regulatory adherence.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that Ciheb-Kenya operates in full compliance with donor regulations, government requirements, and internal policies while supporting the development of robust ERP-driven internal control systems.
Position Summary
The Compliance Manager will ensure that Ciheb-Kenya remains compliant with all internal policies, donor requirements (including USAID/CDC and other development partners), and government regulations.
This role will lead the establishment and continuous improvement of best-practice project management and internal control systems, contribute significantly to ERP internal control design, support contract negotiation and review, and build staff and business systems capacity to ensure full compliance with contractual and donor obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure current internal control systems are in place and compliant with donor regulations and Ciheb-Kenya policies.
- Proactively audit processes, practices, and documentation to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct quarterly donor compliance spot checks across Finance, HR, Programs, Logistics, Procurement, and Grants departments.
- Prepare and submit quarterly compliance reports to the Board/CEO.
- Communicate findings and recommend corrective actions to relevant departments.
- Provide technical support and build awareness among staff on donor compliance requirements.
- Support the design and continuous improvement of internal controls within the Ciheb ERP system, particularly finance, procurement, and reporting components.
- Contribute significantly to ERP internal control design and risk management processes.
- Participate in risk evaluations and update the organizational risk register.
- Conduct investigations as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA-K certification (required).
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in auditing, accounting, and ERP implementation.
- Proven experience in audits of USAID/CDC and other donor-funded projects.
- Strong knowledge of donor regulations and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with both operational and finance teams.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
