Role Purpose
The Warehouse Coordinator will manage daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate handling of all stock and inventory. This role supports Buckner Kenya’s programs by maintaining stock integrity, optimizing storage, and coordinating distribution to program sites on time.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee receiving, storing, and dispatching of goods in accordance with organizational procedures.
Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular cycle counts, and reconcile any discrepancies.
Ensure proper labeling, storage and organization of items following the First-In First-Out (FIFO) principle.
Coordinate packing, order preparation, and timely distribution of supplies to program / field offices.
Monitor stock levels; forecast needs and flag slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory.
Ensure warehouse safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Supervise or coordinate warehouse staff, including assigning tasks, tracking performance, and facilitating training.
Collaborate with Procurement, Logistics, and Program teams to ensure timely supply chain flow.
Maintain tools, equipment, and handling devices; report maintenance needs.
Prepare regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory status, and any risks or issues.
Qualifications & Experience, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse operations or inventory control. Experience in nonprofit / NGO environment is a plus.
Proficiency with inventory management systems / warehouse software; Microsoft Office (Excel in particular).
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Ability to lead a team, communicate clearly, and coordinate across departments.
Basic knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to warehousing.
Physical ability to handle warehouse tasks (lifting, sorting, shelving) and willingness to work in warehouse / field conditions.
