About WOAH & the ZOOSURSY Project
WOAH is a leading intergovernmental authority dedicated to improving animal health, welfare, and veterinary standards globally. As a key player in the One Health framework, WOAH fosters integrated approaches to protect animals, humans, and the environment.
The ZOOSURSY Project—launched in October 2024—builds on the successful EBO-SURSY initiative and is funded by the European Union. Spanning five years, it aims to bolster surveillance systems for emerging and re-emerging zoonotic diseases across 17 countries in Central, West, Eastern, and Southern Africa.
