About the Role

We’re seeking a Programme Manager, Aviation to join our European programme team. This 12-month maternity cover role will focus on reducing emissions from the European aviation sector by mobilising private-sector action and support for key policies. You’ll work closely with our Director, Europe, and collaborate with partners across business, finance, and civil society.


Key Responsibilities

  • Track policy, technology, and market developments in sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), especially e-fuels, hydrogen, and electric flight in Europe.
  • Build a strong understanding of the business case for e-SAF and its path to commercialisation.
  • Implement strategies to influence the role of oil and gas companies in aviation decarbonisation.
  • Lead production of business-facing outreach and advocacy materials, including briefings, memos, talking points, and events that build corporate and financial sector support for policies such as ReFuelEU.
  • Coordinate with NGOs, businesses, researchers, and consultants to deliver impactful strategies.
  • Represent Climate Catalyst at relevant events and business forums.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across our Aviation programme to engage the business community effectively.

About You

  • 5+ years of experience engaging and influencing businesses and investors on climate action.
  • Proven expertise in aviation decarbonisation, particularly sustainable aviation fuels.
  • Knowledge of EU policymaking processes related to aviation (highly desirable).
  • Established relationships with business NGOs, trade associations, and key private-sector actors.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and able to take ownership of existing strategies.
  • A team player with humility, collaboration, and curiosity at your core.

  • Work environment: Fully remote (GMT ± 3)
  • Travel: Expected up to 2 international trips within Europe
